Logging In
Open the application from your device by tapping on the Driver App - Hanson icon (the Hanson logo).
Sign into the application using your Employee ID, and the select the Truck using its complete Truck Number.
Enter your Employee ID in the Enter ID field.
Enter the Truck Number in the drop-down field. For example, to select truck 4002, enter PCC4002 in the Truck No field.
On submit the system will check your previous diary entries, and if sufficient rest periods between shifts, or within the last 7, 14 and 28 days have not been taken as prescribed by heavy vehicle fatigue laws, you will be prevented from logging in, and a message will be presented advising you to speak with your manager before proceeding.
Fit For Duty Declaration
Check that you’ve signed in correctly, and that your name is presented on the screen.
You must confirm that you are Fit For Duty. This confirmation acknowledges all requirements in Hanson’s Fit For Duty policy, including but not limited to you –
- Holding a valid and correct licence for the class of vehicle
- Satisfying the requirements of applicable fatigue legislation
- Being free from the influence of drugs or alcohol
If you are Fit For Duty, tap YES I AM FFD. If you are not Fit for Duty or believe you may not be, tap I AM NOT FFD and then speak to your manager before commencing work.
The application will perform a check of your prior work and non-work hours to determine if you meet the criteria for working under your applicable fatigue rules. In the event you declare you are not Fit for Duty you will be unable to sign into the app, and you will not be allowed to work until the reason is resolved.
Current Truck Faults Alert
Due Truck Fault Reports are shown as an alert upon signing into the application. View the due Truck Fault Reports by tapping CHECK NOW.
The Current Open Faults screen lists all unresolved TFRs. The list shows the date raised, TFR number, and description.

Truck Fault Report Details
Open the truck fault details by tapping the arrow to the right of the list item. The screen displays the status, all details included when initially raised, and details of repair plans.

App Navigation
Home Screen
The home screen displays information about your current work and rest period, and allows you to commence and end breaks. It also has links to –
- Edit your profile
- View Rest Rules
- Change trucks
- View and create Vehicle Checks and Truck Fault Reports
- View logbook history

Main Menu bars
The MAIN MENU is opened by tapping the three horizontal lines in the top left of the Main Screen.
The MAIN MENU slides in from the left and displays links to –
- Create a cartage adjustment
- Add a break manually
- Launch the tyre reading capture website
- Log out of the app
Back Button <
The BACK Button is displayed in the top left of the application screen whenever the option exists to “back out” or return to the previous screen.
Profile Settings
Edit your profile to add your photograph, and driver licence number. From the Home Screen, tap your name or current profile image. Add or change your profile picture – Tap the current image (or placeholder image if adding a profile picture for the first time)

Add or change your driver’s licence number by tapping in the Drivers Licence Number field and edit using your device’s keyboard
Once complete, tap UPDATE PROFILE. A message appears confirming the changes have been applied.
Tap OK to return to the Home Screen.

Starting a Shift
When you successfully log into the application, your Shift Duration automatically commences. The counter on the Home Screen displays the current duration of shift time.

Breaks & Rest Periods
View Rest Period Rules
View your applicable Standard Work Hours rules by tapping the INFO button.
Start a Break
Commence a Rest Period by tapping TAKE A BREAK.

The Rest Period counter commences

To maintain compliance with fatigue laws, rest periods are rounded down to the nearest 15 minutes.
End a Break
Complete a break by tapping END BREAK

Break Reminders
The app gives notifications as you approach your maximum work duration and are due for a break.
First Reminder is up to 90 minutes before you need to start taking the break to meet rest requirements. This ensures drivers on longer routes have adequate time to plan for rest breaks.
The Shift Duration counter changes colour to purple

An in-app reminder alerts you to “Start thinking about impending required break”
[NEED IMAGE]
If the app isn't on screen at the time of the alert, a system notification alerts you to start thinking about your impending required break. This notification remains in the drawer (Android) and in notification centre (iOS) until actioned.
Second Reminder is 30 minutes before you need to start taking the break to meet rest requirements.
The Shift Duration counter changes colour to amber
An in-app reminder alerts you to “Start thinking about impending required break”
If the app isn’t on screen at the time of the alert, a system notification alerts you to start thinking about your impending required break. This notification remains in the drawer (Android) and in notification centre (iOS) until actioned.
Third reminder is 15 minutes before you need to start taking the break to meet rest requirements.
The Shift Duration counter changes colour to red
An in-app reminder alerts you to “Start thinking about impending required break”
If the app isn’t on screen at the time of the alert, a system notification alerts you to start thinking about your impending required break. This notification will remain in the drawer (Android) and in notification centre (iOS) until actioned.
In the event you don’t commence a break, the app alerts you about the breach of your obligations.
A notification is presented within the app and sent to your device advising that “You appear to have not recorded sufficient break time between shifts. Please contact the Plant Manager or Logistics Manager immediately before performing any work.”
Your supervisor and other relevant managers will be alerted that you have not had the required rest periods.
Add Break Manually
In the event that you have taken a rest break but haven’t recorded it in real-time using the app, you can add it to your digital log book manually.
Open the MAIN MENU from the application Home Screen, and tap ADD BREAK MANUALLY.

Tap _SUBMIT_ at the bottom of the screen

The app returns a message advising the break has been successfully added.
Vehicle Checks Menu
Some checks and truck fault reporting will open automatically. Otherwise, checks and truck fault reporting must be accessed by tapping CHECKS & TFR at the bottom of the Home Screen.
The Checks & Truck Fault Reporting menu screen opens.
- Start a new Prestart Check
- View previous Prestart Checks
- End of Day Check buttons
- Weekly Check buttons

Prestart Check
Commence a Prestart Check by tapping START PRESTART.
The app guides you through all the items needed to complete a prestart check.
The items are specific to the type of truck you’re driving.
Each item has a description and images of how the item will pass or fail.
Carefully read the description and view the images to determine if the item passes or fails the prestart check.
If the item passes, tap PASS. The app displays the next item on the prestart.
If the item fails, tap FAIL. The app automatically opens a Truck Fault Report for you to complete. Please refer to the guide on completing Truck Fault Reports further in this guide.

If the item is not applicable the the Prestart Check, tap N/A. An item is not applicable if the part is the subject of a current Truck Fault Report, or if the item is not fitted nor required (for example, NHVR stickers in WA).
Once all Prestart Check items are recorded, the app presents a screen to record information about the truck and engine.

Enter the truck odometer reading in the field labelled ODO
Capture a photo of the truck’s odometer (optional)
Tap the CAMERA button.
Add an image by taking a new photo, or select an existing image from your device.
Enter Truck Hours.
Tap NEXT.
A summary screen is displayed.

If all details are correct, tap the SUBMIT button.

View Prestart Check Log
View previous Prestart Checks by tapping RECENT PRESTART CHECKS.

The app displays a list of previous Prestart Checks, including the date completed and the name of the person who did the check. The pass/fail count is identified on this screen also.
Tap the arrow adjacent to the list item to view more information as each item on the Prestart Check sequence is displayed

Items for which a Truck Fault Report has been raised provide a link to view the TFR. Tap the TFR NUMBER below the FAIL indicator.
Refer to the section on Truck Fault Reports in this guide.
Return to the Prestart Checks list by tapping the BACK ARROW.
End of Day Check
Commence an End of Day Check by tapping START END OF DAY CHECK.

The app guides you through all items needed to complete an End of Day check.
The items are specific to the type of truck you’ve been driving.
Each item has a description and images of how the item will pass or fail.
Carefully read the description and view the images to determine if the item passes or fails the prestart check.
If the item passes, tap PASS. The app displays the next item on the End of Day Check.
If the item fails, tap FAIL. The app automatically opens a Truck Fault Report for you to complete. Refer to Truck Fault Reports Section of this guide on how to do this.

Once all End of Day Check items are recorded, the app presents a screen to record information about the truck and engine.

Weekly Check
Commence a Weekly Check by tapping WEEKLY CHECKS.
The app guides you through all items needed to complete a Weekly Check. Items are specific to the type of truck you’ll be driving. Each item has a description and images of how the item will pass or fail.
Carefully read the description and view the images to determine if the item passes or fails the check.
If the item passes, tap PASS. The app displays the next item on the checklist.
If the item fails, tap FAIL. The app automatically opens a Truck Fault Report for you to complete. Refer to Truck Fault Reports in Section 5 of this guide.
Once all prestart items are recorded, the app presents a screen to record information about the truck and engine.
Enter the truck odometer reading in the field labelled ODO
Capture a photo of the truck’s odometer (optional)
Tap the CAMERA button.
Add a photo by taking a new photo, or select an existing image from your device.
Enter Truck Hours.
Tap NEXT.
A summary screen is then displayed.

View the Weekly Check Log

The app displays a list of previous Weekly Checks, including the date completed and the name of the person who did the check. The pass/fail count is identified on this screen also.

Truck Fault Reporting
Current Truck Fault Reports
Drivers must be aware of current Truck Fault Reports. Tap VIEW NOW to see current fault reports.

#### Create Truck Fault Report (TFR) From the Home Screen, tap _CHECKS & TFR_. Commence a new Truck Fault Report by tapping _CREATE TFR_.

Displayed on the new TFR screen –

A unique TFR identifier
Current date
Your name
Complete the TFR by selecting the following –
Fault Type
Fail Reason
Enter the name of the person notified
Enter Fault Notes/Description. Ensure this is a description of the fault, and not what you think should be done to fix it. (5)
Add up to 2 images to support the Fault Report.
Tap BROWSE
Take a new photo with your device’s camera, or select photo from your device.
Tap SUBMIT

The app returns a notification that the Truck Fault Report has been successfully submitted.
The Truck Fault Report is submitted to the appropriate members of staff who will advise whether the truck can be driven, and the method and timeframe for monitoring or repairing the fault.

View Open Faults
To access the Open Reports Screen
Navigate to the Open Faults list manually.
From the Home Screen, tap CHECKS & TFR
Tap OPEN FAULTS at the bottom left of the screen
The Current Open Faults screen lists all unresolved TFRs. The list shows the date raised, TFR number, and description.

Open the truck fault details by tapping the arrow to the right of the list item. The screen displays the status, all details included when initially raised, and details of repair plans.
View Closed Faults
To access the Closed Reports Screen
Navigate to the Closed Faults list manually -
From the Home Screen, tap CHECKS & TFR
Tap CLOSED FAULTS at the bottom right of the screen
The Closed Faults screen lists all previous TFRs that have been resolved.
The list shows the date raised, TFR number, and description.

Truck Fault Report Details
Display closed/resolved truck fault details by tapping the arrow to the right of the list item.
The screen displays the status, all details included when initially raised, and the details of the repair.

Log Book History
Driver App – Hanson enables you to view your Log Book History, including –
Previous deliveries
Work hours / shift durations
Break hours
The Log Book History also enables a delivery to be added manually to ensure the Log Book is complete and compliant.
Open the Log Book History
From the Home Screen, tap LOG BOOK HISTORY.
The app displays a list of log book entries, grouped by date. Each date contains the following overview information –
Number of deliveries
Total Work Hours
Total Break Hours (rounded to 15 minute blocks as taken)
A button to add a delivery manually

Log Book Details
Expand each date panel by tapping anywhere in the date box. The panel expands to show –
Work Duration with start and end times, and total minutes in each block
Rest Periods with start and end times, and total minutes without rounding
A list of deliveries

Delivery Details
Tap the DELIVERY NUMBER to show all delivery details, including –
Loading plant
Material
Customer
Destination address
Volume of material
Add Details to Existing Delivery
Add status time stamps
If required, add status time stamps. On the Delivery Details screen, enter the –
Load time
Arrive site time
Depart site time
Arrive plant time
Tap in the corresponding box and use your device keyboard to add the times. When complete, tap UPDATE DELIVERY.
You cannot edit the times after you have confirmed via the UPDATE DELIVERY button.
Add Site Notes & Photographs
Tap SITE NOTES/PHOTO at the bottom of the Delivery Details screen
Select a reason for the notes/photo from the drop-down list
Enter applicable notes
Add an image (optional)
Tap SUBMIT. The app advises that the Site Note has been added successfully.

Add Route Issues
You may experience an issue with the route Trimble has advised you to take. This may be due to changes in the road network, or a problem with the mapping data. If this is the case, you can note the issue against the delivery.
Tap the map icon in the top right of the Delivery Details screen.
Add information about the issue.
Tap SUBMIT.
The application advises the Route Issue details have been successfully sent.

Add Delivery (Manually)
Keep your log book complete and compliant by manually adding deliveries when working offline. Each day you have recorded Work Hours there is an option to add a delivery manually.
Open the Log Book History screen from the Home Screen by tapping LOG BOOK HISTORY then locate the date for which you need to add a manual delivery; Tap ADD DELIVERY, and enter –
Delivery Number
Plant number where loaded (EG 3116)
Material description (EG PU/20/20/80)
Volume carried (“Weight” field – EG 28T for an aggregate delivery, or 5.9m3 for a concrete order)
Customer Account Name
Destination Address
Load Time
Time you arrived on site
Time you departed site
Time you arrived back at the plant
Any applicable notes (optional)

Tap SUBMIT. The app advises that the delivery details have been added successfully.
The app returns to the Log Book History screen, and the number of deliveries for the day you’ve edited are updated to include the new delivery you created.
Change Truck
Tap CHANGE TRUCK on the Home Screen.
A dropdown box appears where the Truck Number was previously displayed.
Enter a new truck number
Tap SAVE TRUCK
A message advises you may need to complete a new pre-start check for the truck you are about to drive.
If not required, tap NO, ONE ALREADY DONE. The app returns to the Home Screen.
If a pre-start check is required, tap YES, PERFORM PRESTART. The app launches the new Pre-Start Check sequence.

Cartage Adjustment
Submit cartage adjustments via the app for faster approval and processing.
Open the Main Menu from the Home Screen and tap CARTAGE ADJUSTMENT.
Complete the following details –
Date
Plant Number
Reason for the Cartage Adjustment (select from the drop-down list)
Docket Number (Delivery Number)
Claim amount (in whole dollar amounts only)
Quantity (material quantity, klm’s etc. if applicable)
Enter any other information to support your claim for cartage adjustment
Add a photograph of the docket the Cartage Adjustment relates to
Tap the “Upload Image” section of the screen.
Take new photograph or add an existing photograph from your device
Tap SUBMIT.
The app advises the request has been successfully submitted.
You may cancel the Cartage Adjustment Request by tapping the CANCEL button, or tapping the back arrow.

Tyre Reading Capture
Driver App – Hanson provides a link to the Tyre Reading Capture website.
Open the MAIN MENU from the Home Screen
Tap TYRE READING CAPTURE
The mobile web browser on your device opens the Tyre Reading Capture site

Log Out
Log out of the app at the end of your shift. Ensure all work tasks are complete before logging out of the application.
